Hey friends! Jennifer from The Balancing Mom is hosting a super awesome monthly series where she is giving a spotlight to other moms, bloggers, and instagrammers on her website! It is called SuperMOM Spotlight- how cool is that?
Jennifer was one of the first people I connected with when I first started this blogging journey and connecting with women like Jennifer has been one of the brightest parts of blogging! She is a wife, mom, worker, and lives in my dream state: California! She is so motivational and has some wonderful content on her blog. She is also incredibly beautiful (as seen in the photo below), but her inward beauty outshines everything! I would love for you to check out her blog and follower her journey as she balances motherhood and life!
Below I have her answers to some great questions so you can get to know her better. If you want to see my answers, head on over to www.thebalancingmom.com!
I have 3 little ones: Violeta (11 yrs), Brandon (4 yrs), and Paulette (1 yrs).
I work part time at a Doctor’s office. I go to church every Sunday. I enjoy taking professional photography on the side. I’m a YouTuber (The Balancing Mom) and a Blogger at www.thebalancingmom.com. I’m usually home by 6:30 pm and spend time with the kids and my husband, Derick.
I take my 2 older kids to school (walking distance, which is great), come home and watch a couple of episodes while I sip on my coffee. My 1 year old wakes up and I make breakfast for both of us then clean around the house, blogging, running errands. Then I pick up my son, and start getting ready for work (easy, I wear scrubs). I drop the kids off with my sister and head off to work. Come home and serve dinner, then work towards bedtime routine, which includes showers, clean teeth and prepping for the next school day.
Making lists. Literally writing everything down. I even write down “Take Shower” in my lists. LOL! I also use a planner (paper) and set alarms on my iPhone.
When my son was born. It was magical.
Feeling guilty when you have to go to work, or when I know I messed up as a mom. Not having a Manual For Moms (haha), and not being able to protect my kids from pain.
When I see my kids eat the food I make and completely devour it because it’s so delicious. I always stare and think how blessed they/we are to have food on our table. Also seeing how much they love and protect each other.
OMG, let me share with you the booger story. My 11 year old, Violeta, and I went to the store. She was about 5 then. We were in line to pay and there was one person ahead of us and one behind us. Violeta looked at me and loudly (as children speak) said “Mommy you have a big green booger right here (pointing to my nose)”. I tried to act cool and just said “That’s fine, I’ll fix it when we get home”, but I was beside myself with embarrassment! Of course the person in front of us and the person behind us heard.. One of those moments that I can laugh at now, but not when it happened. haha
Aquaphor for diaper rash… wonderful, just wonderful. It is quick and effective and nice and cool to soothe baby bum pain.
I was never a “kid person”, and always feared that when I became a mom I would remain the same.. God had other plans for me though. When my son was born, I felt so much mommy love towards him, it was the love I feared I’d never feel!
I’ll take a long shower at night after kids are in bed. I also go out with girlfriends, usually to a 24HR coffee house close by to unwind, or just read read read my Bible.
The kids and I loooove going to IKEA. Seriously. We get there, eat from their restaurant, then I take my son to the childcare they have and finally take a walk through the store. Even if we don’t buy anything, I always leave very inspired and so does Violeta, my 11 year old.
Buffalo Wild Wings in Otay Ranch. They provide iPads for the kids which is nice, and the TVs are always loud so if my kids are yelling, the customers on the table next to us wont mind!
Always trust your Mother Instinct. It’s real, it exists.
