I love getting inspiration from Pinterest!
Between the recipes, DIY projects, and so much more, I am a big Pinterest fan!
However, I am NOT a “Pinterest Mom” despite my biggest efforts to be one.
Let’s face it. You either have it or you don’t, and I SO don’t!
Between my many failed projects that look nothing like the what it should:
(it’s supposed to be a spider handprint)
and not being able to nicely decorate my home, yet alone a kid’s birthday party:
(This was decorate by my mom. Definitely NOT me)
I don’t have a creative bone in my body and that is OK!
For whatever reason, I usually end up feeling guilty for either not caring enough to try to be this type of mom, or failing whenever I do try.
Can anyone else relate with this?
Please don’t misunderstand what I am trying to say.
It’s OK to get inspired by Pinterest and to try and be a “Pinterest Mom” because there isn’t anything wrong with it!
Some of the closest people to me are “Pinterest Moms” in certain areas.
My point is that we need to stop comparing ourselves and quit feeling bad or guilty if our homes aren’t perfectly decorated, or our children’s lunch boxes don’t contain cute face sandwiches, or if that DIY project didn’t turn out like the friends beside us.
I don’t think my children will care if their costumes are bought and not made, or if the pantry is perfectly organized with cute chalk board pins to label the neatly organized bins of food…which is goals, am I right?!
My children are just going to have to get used to Amazon Prime boxes showing up at our doorstep.
and that’s ok!
