I plan on doing weekly updates with pictures, so scroll down for the first one after reading the first trimester update!
We are so excited that baby #2 is on it’s way!
I am also personally excited that the first trimester is officially OVER!
Keo was almost an 11 pound baby but you wouldn’t have known it (other than from my massive belly) because I was completely fine throughout my entire pregnancy. No morning sickness, no trouble sleeping, no illnesses, or anything else that is usually negatively associated with pregnancy.
With Keo, I was glowing and my hair and nails never looked better.
This pregnancy, however, is the complete opposite from my first pregnancy!
This first trimester was full of morning sickness (or more like all day sickness), extreme fatigue, and what felt like illness after illness.
I am not sure if it is because my body just hates me or because my immune system is down, but if there was any illness going around, I was for sure going to catch it…including a stomach bug that landed me in the ER.
I have heard from SO many people that feeling as awful as I did means it will be a GIRL.
Who knows! We will just have to wait and see! Although I know two people due within the same week as me and they are both having girls!
In all honesty though, Pedro and I both just want a healthy baby (that is a great sleeper!) We didn’t add that with Keo and we got a 30 minute napper and a baby that didn’t sleep through the night until 16 months haha!
Being so sick the first trimester was hard physically, but it was more hard emotionally.
I mainly felt bad for Keo because I wasn’t being the best mom that I know I could be. There were a lot of days spent on the couch watching tv together just because I didn’t feel good or because I didn’t have much energy.
Keo behaved for the most part and learned to play more on his own. He also also been more loving and super cuddly, which I of course don’t mind 🙂
My hormones are much more all over the place this time than before (poor hubby).
I think the exhaustion comes from trying to balance school, taking care of a toddler, and normal SAHM life duties. Thankfully my husband’s schedule is changing and he is going to be around more for me and Keo.
As always, thanks for reading and I look forward on taking you on this journey with me!
How far along: 14 weeks exactly!
Total weight gain: I haven’t been on the scale but 1 pound in my last doctor’s appointment
Maternity clothes: I bought a pair of maternity jeans even though I am still trying to squeeze into my regular clothes. Some of my shirts now are looking a little ridiculous (aka too tight, or rides up the belly!) and I unbotton my jeans whenever possible haha!
Stretch marks: Just the same ones Keo gave me 🙂
Sleep: Waking up 1-2 times to pee (TMI) and feeling uncomfortable all night. I am waiting as long as I can before I buy a maternity pillow!
Best moment of this week: Pedro and I are sick this week and Keo has been sick and fussy because he is cutting three teeth… so maybe the extra snuggles I am getting!
Miss anything: Uninterrupted sleep, my energy, and being able to pick up and play with Keo like before.
Movement: Nothing yet. Just gas haha
Food cravings: No not really. But my sense of smell is heightening!
Anything making you queasy or sick: strong smells and Mexican food
Have you started to show yet: you can definitely see I have a bump growing and some extra love left over from Keo 🙂
Gender: Not sure yet!
Labor signs: None!
Belly button in or out: In. It stayed in with my 10.7 pound baby, so I don’t expect any changes.
Wedding rings on or off: Haha it’s been off since my first pregnancy… oops..
Happy or moody most of the time: So, So, So moody!!! Cried on a play-date (in public) and scared my non-mom friend who has never seen me cry. My mood is all over the place this time.
Looking forward to: The next appointment so we can see baby and find out the gender!!
